congress should break up the monopolies that control the buying and processing our milk. It is up to us the farmers to control the supply of product in the market, according to the demand.

Cost of production plus 20% & cost of living goes up, our price goes up accordingly. No fee deductions except for membership dues. All other fees are passed on to the consumer. Any surplus is donated to the needy not put into powdered milk & store

That is a good point the chart on daily dairy report today shows that same point. It took the new support price to stimulate nfdm to finally move up.

at the end of july gov raised the support price. The price of cheese and nfdm came up to that level without the gov purchase before the end of july. If this was a true market the price would not have changed so quickley the gov would of had to buy some product before it moved. So maybe we need the gov to support the price or change the price discovery system. Its not working the world price has been higher for a while now. Why has our price not moved? It's a false market.

If everyone in the dairy business including coops, processors, gov., etc.would get a 1/2 reduction in pay with no way of getting back that lose, I bet there would soon be a solution to this terrible mess of milk pricing

They need to do something fast, us dairymen are so stressed out, the price of milk vs the price to sustain a dairy do not match, all the businesses that work with the dairies are bleeding for money. Just try to be in the dairymen"s shoes!!!!

Also with price supports it encourages impotrs becuase they can buy them cheaper than the price support priced products

people do some research on price supports anytime you raise them it makes it harder to export our products and the government can only stock so much.when they raise the support price you can only export it at that price and nothing under so other countrie can sit ther and out bid us and does nothing to get rid of our surplus. Like the gov. raising the support price of milk if anybody noticed milking was being traded well above the knew temporary support price so what good did that do.

The real answer to our problem is the Spector-Casey bill S1645 which will give us a cost of production for our price and a supply management program and help alleviate import problems.
